So, as most of you probably know, and just in case you missed the title highlighted in orange at the top of the page, this blog will focus on my experience in Ghana this upcoming summer. Beginning in late May, I will embark on an adventure of a lifetime. With the support of my family, I have been granted the opportunity to travel to Africa with Project Heal, a student-run group based out of the Campus Y at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. With eight other friends, I plan on experiencing all that Ghana has to offer, while, at the same time, bringing much needed aid to the country. Throughout this past semester, Project Heal has raised over $1 million worth of medical supplies that will be distributed throughout this impoverished country. Over the course of our stay, my friends and I plan on restocking a rural hospital located in the village of Lawra, will work towards educating the youth on basic health practices, and will distribute first-aid kits along with other supplies wherever deemed necessary. I am very excited about the coming months and will do my best to update this blog whenever possible. I hope you guys enjoy!
